Spotlight on animal extinction and its consequences.

This art collective forefronts environmental sustainability in their process, using up-cycled materials and powering with renewable solar energy. Bred in the Burning Man tradition of Large-Scale, Interactive Art, they are inspired to create works that transport audiences out of their day-to-day lives and into a space of inspiration and introspection. While the group are led by artist Emily Nicolosi, they also build on the process of Collective Art Making.

‘FAUNA ILLUMINATA’ and ‘TREEHIVE’  are two Projects within the common exhibition title 'GLOW', feature larger than life clear resin prints (using a state-of-the-art sterolithography 3D printer) of species-specific, endangered animals which reside in Utah. They celebrate their importance; serve as a poignant reminder of the delicate balance of our natural world and emphasise the urgent need for species protection and conservation efforts. The Sculptures are illuminated with RGB LED spotlights and individually addressable LEDs (100% solar powered including the build, as well as the exhibition space).

-> I helped creating the 3D files (Blender) of following species: Western Bumble Bee, Gila Monster, Short-Eared Owl, Kit Fix, Canadian Lynx, and Black-Footed Ferret.

Collaboration with: In Theory Art Studios; Gallivan Centre in Salt Lake City, Utah.
