A dining plate to counter the 'Social Media Dilemma' with its associated addiction which our generation faces.
'Cena fuera de línea' = Spanish 'Offline Dinner'
Our generation often eats non-focused, our attention is constantly 'on our screens'. There are no more dinner table conversations, no joy of eating together, no regard to the food we are consuming. My design is encouraging users to not be on their phones for the duration of the meal. The 'Cena fuera de línea' may look like a normal dinner plate on the family table. Nevertheless its hallow, metal covered bottom allows (through magnet radiation circuits) to go 'off signal' once the phone is between the plate and the table-mat. No messages, no calls and no email notifications will disrupt the meal and the user can fully focus on their food and the people around them.
Attention: This media-less meal time may carry mental, as well as physical benefits for the user, as one will enjoy their meals more focused and consciously.
Software Used: Blender (3d modelling software), prototyped and 3d printed in PLA plastics, Adobe Ai & Lazercut, Spraypaint.
Developed during my studies at IE University, Madrid. Studio with Hector Serrano.
