Environment Focused
Challenge: Research the Muji company and create a product design fitting their concept, style and aesthetics.
We decided to design an angled version of the common Laundry Clip with extended front grip, intended for children's play (as Muji is relatively weakly equipped in that section), which allows children to build structures with the cardboard boxes in which their online orders arrive. We offer a variation set of 7 distinct angels, allowing kids to create and build millions of different cardboard buildings. The clip can then be used for plenty of different everyday and household purposes, once the kids stop playing with them. This allows for it to not have a limited usage time, gives it a 2nd life and makes sure for the item to not be limited to the children section in the store.
We modelled our ASAP Clips on Rhino7, and 3d Printed our PLA prototypes in our University Fablab. The real product would preferably be made of a more sustainable, children-friendly material.
